Ing. Věra Czesaná CSc.

Věra Czesaná graduated from the University of Economics in Prague and completed her doctoral studies at the Central Institute of Economic Research. She works as chief expert-analyst and the Head of the National Observatory of Employment and Training in the National Training Fund in Prague. She has long-term experience in the labour market research, analysis of human resources quality and anticipation of qualification needs in connection with economic development and technological progress.

She also addressed issues of further education, the role of human resources in the framework of research and innovation policy. She acted as a national coordinator within the European ReferNet network managed by the European agency Cedefop, which focuses on analyzes of vocational training in EU member states. In recent years, she has been involved in the topics of Work 4.0 and Industry 4.0.

She is an author or co-writer of many analytical studies and publications. She collaborates on numerous national and international projects, including the preparation of studies for the European Commission in the field of education, integration of youth into the labour market, as well as in OECD projects in the field of Transition from initial education to working life, or International Assessment of Adult Competencies – PIAAC). Within the framework of national projects, she leads research teams in projects focused on analyses of the labour market, employment and education policies, and on factors influencing demand for professions and qualifications in individual sectors of the economy. Among others, it could be mentioned, for example, the Compass project managed by the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, which aims to create a system for monitoring and predicting labour market developments at the national and regional levels.
